A friend alerted me yesterday to the fact that the newest novel by suspense/thriller writer Steve Berry, who has penned at least ten novels that have sold something like 12 million (!) copies, would seem to be about the Letters of Marque Clause of Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution and one of the full chapters in The Odd Clauses. Berry’s novel is called The Jefferson Key, and its amazon ranking is so high it makes me feel dizzy. It’s also been chosen by Amazon as one of the best books of the year so far. So if you’re interested in odd clauses of the Constitution, you should check it out; I know I will.
By the way, if you look at the little movie trailer on the Amazon page, it concludes with “Think you know what’s in the Constitution? Think again.” Amen.
